WE BELIEVE that our FAITH in JESUS CHRIST , is expressed by CALLING on HIS NAME, in the WATERS of BAPTISM.
Water Baptism is an act of obedience identifying with our Savior’s death, burial and resurrection. Through Baptism we participate in Christ’s death, we are buried with Him when we are immersed in water and we are raised to newness of life by the same power that raised Him from the dead.
Jesus explained to His disciples, just before his ascension, that the reason for His death, burial and resurrection on the third day was so that Repentance and Remission of Sins would be preached in His Name, beginning at Jerusalem unto the uttermost parts of the Earth (Luke 24:45-47).
After Peter preached the Gospel on the day of Pentecost, those listening asked what their response should be to what they had just heard. Then Peter said to them, “REPENT, and BE BAPTIZED EVERY ONE OF YOU in the NAME of JESUS CHRIST for the REMISSION of SINS, and ye SHALL RECEIVE the GIFT of the HOLY GHOST.” (Acts 2:37-38)
